GTA Online Weekly Update — August 28, 2026

GTA Online is doubling down on racing and robbery contracts through August 30, with triple bonuses arriving during the weekend and a fresh rotation of transform vehicle chaos.

Drift Races Earn Double Payouts All Week

Drift Races are running at 2X GTA$, RP, and LS Car Meet Rep for the full week. Completing three Drift Races triggers a Weekly Challenge worth an extra GTA$100,000. As a bonus, finishing a Drift Race in the Übermacht Cypher (Sports) unlocks its Glitch Camo drift livery, arriving within 72 hours.

Who should prioritize this: Players building LS Car Meet Rep or grinding GTA$ through racing will find measurable gains here. Newcomers to Drift Races can use the challenge completion as a structured entry point.

Auto Shop Robbery Contracts Double Rewards

Auto Shop Robbery Contracts also offer 2X GTA$, RP, and LS Car Meet Rep through September 2. These operations require owning an Auto Shop and learning the contract mechanics, but the doubled payout makes the grind worthwhile.

Who should prioritize this: Players with an established Auto Shop can leverage the 2X multiplier immediately. Those without should weigh the purchase cost against the temporary bonus window.

Random Transform Races: 3X Weekend Bonus

Three new Known Unknown Races at Redwood Lights Track, Elysian Island docks, and Grand Senora Desert shuffle you through a random roster of vehicles—Blazer ATVs, Manchez Scout motorcycles, Phantom tractor trucks, and more—until you’ve driven each one. The weekend delivers a special 6X GTA$ and RP multiplier on these events.

Who should prioritize this: Casual racers and players seeking novelty will appreciate the vehicle rotation. The weekend 6X bonus makes Friday–Sunday races especially lucrative.

Vehicle and Weapon Discounts

Thirty percent discounts apply to seven vehicles: Cheval Taipan (Super), Vapid Flash GT (Sports), Invetero Coquette D5 (Sports), Annis ZR350 (Sports), RC Bandito (Off-Road), Karin Technical Aqua (Off-Road), and Obey I-Wagen (SUV). Two planes—Buckingham Howard NX-25 and Western Company Duster 300-H—are also 30% off.

The Military Rifle carries a 30% discount. GTA+ members receive an additional 40% off the Precision Rifle. Nine weapons are available through the Gun Van (Railgun, Grenade Launcher, Heavy Pistol, Crowbar, Pipe Bombs, Tear Gas, Grenades), though discount percentages are not specified for those items.

GTA+ Membership Perks

GTA+ members receive a free Gallivanter Warden (Off-Road) from the showroom inside The Vinewood Car Club. Members also gain Chameleon Paints and Princess Robot Bubblegum apparel automatically, an automatic monthly GTA$500,000 deposit, 15% GTA$ bonus on special Shark Cards, and access to the GTA+ Games Library.

What to Do First

Start with Drift Races if you want immediate, repeatable payouts this week—the Weekly Challenge bonus is a quick GTA$100,000 injection. If you already own an Auto Shop, run Robbery Contracts alongside your usual activities to stack the 2X multiplier. Tackle the weekend Random Transform Races between Friday and Sunday to capture the 6X bonus. Make any vehicle or weapon purchases before August 30 if you’re eyeing the 30% discounts.
